A program honoring local veterans will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bradford Area Public Library.
Steve Appleby, executive director of the Eldred World War II Museum, will present the program. Appleby, a World War II specialist, will discuss the importance and history of Veterans Day and acknowledge the veterans attending the event. He will also display several artifacts from the museum. Donald Neal, a veteran of the Korean War, will share a poem which he wrote about an experience he had meeting a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
The Bradford Area Public Library will recognize all of the men and women who have fought for this country in all branches of the military. Veterans are invited to attend and be honored for their service. The program is free and open to the public.
