A Philadelphia man was jailed Monday on allegations selling crack cocaine in Bradford.
Rayquan Raymond, 22, was arrested earlier that day “upon his exit from a bus and was charged with various crimes relating to the possession with the intent to deliver 14 grams of crack cocaine,” District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said.
She explained the criminal complaint in the case alleges that Raymond had traveled to Bradford from Philadelphia to sell crack cocaine and had communicated via cell phone with a co-conspirator about sales in Bradford.
Additionally, the complaint indicates that, while at the Bradford City Police Department, the defendant attempted to tamper with evidence and interfere with officers discharging an official duty.
Raymond was charged via two separate criminal complaints. In one case, Raymond is charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication device, conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest.
Bail was set by District Judge Dominic Cercone at $200,000 and the defendant was remanded to the McKean County Jail.
In a separate complaint, Raymond was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set in that case by District Judge Richard Luther at $10,000.
“If anyone suspects drug activity please contact the McKean County Drug Task Force at the district attorney’s office at 887-3312 or MCDTFtip@gmail.com,” Shaffer said.
