SMETHPORT — A Limestone, N.Y., man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to a Megan’s Law violation.
Floyd M. Perigo, 24, entered the plea to a charge of failure to verify address/be photographed. Between March 30 and June 27, Perigo, who must register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, was not residing at the residence he had submitted with state police, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said. He will be sentenced Dec. 7.
Also in court, Shawn M. Pire, 46, of Smethport, will serve 45 days to one year in McKean County Jail for a charge of unsworn falsification to authorities. On Oct. 19, he pleaded guilty to allegations that on Jan. 5, Pire was meeting with state police as part of his sex offender registration requirements under Megan’s Law, and he promised that he would notify police of any online accounts knowing it was not true.
Bonnie L. Eschrich, 36, of Kane, pleaded guilty to charges of criminal attempt to obtain possession of a controlled substance through representation and forgery. On June 27, Eschrich altered a prescription from a doctor and submitted it to a pharmacy to obtain Percocet, but her attempt was denied, said Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Kenneth M. Nierenberger, 28, of Marion, N.Y. pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal trespassing. On Aug. 1, Nierenberger entered a private garage in Bradford; a child in a nearby house saw the man and went to the father, who confronted Nierenberger, according to Shaffer. He will be sentenced Nov. 16.
William L. Roggenbaum Jr., 24, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in two separate cases. He is charged with simple assault in one case and resisting arrest and a summary charge in the second case. According to Shaffer, on July 4, Roggenbaum threw a rock through the back window of a vehicle driven by a woman trying to escape an argument with him; then, on Sept. 16, police were called because Roggenbaum, who was under the influence, was smashing windows in a vehicle, and when police were called, he threw a shirt at an officer’s face and lunged forward. Roggenbaum’s attorney, Robert Kinnear, noted the windows were in Roggenbaum’s own vehicle. He will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Yvonne Bush-Banks, 30, of Custer City, pleaded guilty to charges in two cases. She’s charged in one case with receiving stolen property and in the second case with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Shaffer, between Oct. 1-31 in 2016, Bush-Banks received a stolen exterior door valued at less than $200; on June 13, she possessed a small amount of marijuana and two marijuana pipes. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Theodore Vancise, 19, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to a charge of corruption of minors. Shaffer explained that Vancise had a relationship with a 14-year-old girl that included kissing and, on at least one occasion, a secret meeting against the wishes of the girl’s mother. He will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Tahnee N. Girts, 27, of Kane, pleaded guilty to simple assault charges in two separate cases. According to Grill, on June 25, Girts struck a female; then, on July 4, she struck another female in the head multiple times. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Samantha L. Hinchman, 30, of Limestone, N.Y., pleaded guilty to a charge of recklessly endangering another person. At 1:26 a.m. May 19, Hinchman left a 10 ½-year-old girl home alone, according to Grill. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Sarah A. Phillips, 30, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and a summary charge. On Aug. 15, police tried to take Phillips into custody because she refused to leave the Country Fair premises after a disturbance; she caused an abrasion and ripped jeans for one officer and a rolled ankle to another during the arrest, according to Shaffer. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Michael Chittester, 25, of Ridgway, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by deception in two cases. According to Grill, on Jan. 6, Chittester passed a bad check at Mount Jewett Marketplace for $131.84; then, on March 24, he tried to pass a payroll check that had already been cashed. He will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Crystal L. Morrison, 34, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and theft by unlawful taking. On April 3, Morrison issued someone else’s personal check for $150 without permission, Grill said. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.
Alfred E. Caraffa Jr., 46, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of defiant trespassing. On Sept. 7, Caraffa was on Bradford Area School District property, despite already receiving notification from the superintendent and Bradford City Police that he was not to be there. He will be sentenced Nov. 2.
The following people were accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program: Stephen T. Capitani, 24, of Olean, N.Y., for criminal trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property; David A. Foster, 30, of Bradford, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; and Chanel I. Malee, 33, of Limestone, N.Y., Danielle J. Coscia, 39, of Eldred, and Kyle D. Nobles, 26, of Smethport, all for driving under the influence of alcohol.
