The economy in Foster Township will be really “revving up” soon.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is planning to relocate from Kendall Avenue in Bradford to The Shops at Foster Brook on Foster Brook Boulevard –– and construction is ongoing on the ALDI grocery store at the Bradford Mall.
“I’m happy to have Enterprise. I think they’ll be a great addition to the plaza,” said Todd Vinelli, owner of The Shops at Foster Brook property.
The vehicle-rental business will take up part of a spot formerly occupied by Tina’s Hallmark, which closed in 2014. Enterprise will take a 1,600-square-foot spot.
Construction is underway, and work is expected to be completed by the beginning of the new year, said Christy Cavallini, vice president of communications for Enterprise Holdings.
The new location will be bigger and put Enterprise Rent-A-Car in a centralized location, she said.
Vinelli has owned The Shops at Foster Brook for about a year, and in that time he has secured two new tenants. Cricket Wireless moved into the former Subway location earlier this year.
He said he would love to see a craft store or a pet store open in the plaza.
Nearby in Foster Brook, ALDI is continuing to be built along East Main Street, across the parking lot to the north of Taco Bell.
ALDI is scheduled to open before the end of 2017, said J.R. Perry, ALDI Saxonburg division vice president.
“We look forward to joining the Bradford community and bringing local shoppers the highest quality groceries at affordable prices,” he said, noting that the location offers the kind of convenience ALDI looks for.
For the Foster Township location, about 15 people will be employed.
Meanwhile, at the Bradford Mall, Patrick Higgins, director of development for Miller Bros. Construction, said about 10,000 square feet has been leased to Balkan Beverage Co. for warehouse/storage. That business is in a portion of what was formerly Carolina Furniture’s warehouse.
“We will be actively marketing the former (Big Lots) space now that they have vacated,” he said.
Big Lots recently relocated down a few storefronts beside Dunham’s Sports at the mall.
