A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail, charged for allegedly trying to rob someone with a handgun early Friday morning.
Lee Michael Gourley, 33, of 52 Willard Ave., is charged with possession of a firearm prohibited because of a prior criminal conviction, a second-degree felony; flight to avoid apprehension, a third-degree felony; and attempted robbery, a felony.
According to court records, at 2:50 a.m. Friday, police were dispatched to a reported robbery with two males inside a Cornen Street residence with a handgun. When police arrived, both males had fled. Witnesses said Gourley entered the residence with a handgun and a second man, allegedly to commit robbery, the records stated.
After leaving the residence, the two men went to a Pearl Street residence, where Gourley attempted to hide from police. Officers surrounded the residence and Gourley attempted to flee out the back, but was apprehended, court records stated.
The court records allege that Gourley had attempted to take money “and/or narcotics from an individual inside the residence” on Cornen Street while he was in possession of a firearm.
Gourley was arraigned Friday morning before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
