SMETHPORT — A Mount Jewett man waived a preliminary hearing in McKean County Central Court Thursday on allegations including strangulation.
Richard C. Anderson, 22, of 9889 Route 6, is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
According to court records, Anderson grabbed his girlfriend by the throat, squeezing her neck and cutting her air supply, and pushed her to the floor during an argument.
He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
