The most serious charges against a Bradford man accused of running someone over in his pickup truck have been dismissed.
A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday for Steven Robert Curcio, 48, of 150 West Warren Road, before District Judge Dom Cercone. Two counts of aggravated assault were dismissed, while two counts relating to aggravated assault by vehicle were withdrawn by the district attorney’s office.
The remaining charges were bound over to court. Those charges are as follows: accidents involving injury, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, recklessly endangering another, second-degree misdemeanors; DUI; and several summary citations.
Curcio was charged for an incident on Pearl Street in Bradford on Sept. 16. He had allegedly argued with a woman at his vehicle before driving away, allegedly dragging her alongside the truck before she fell and was run over with the truck’s rear tire, court records stated.
Police said Curcio admitted to having “done cocaine the night prior,” and a drug recognition expert from the state police concluded he was under the influence at the time of the incident, court records allege.
Curcio remains jailed in lieu of $100,000 percentage bail.
