GOOD TIME: Summer weather is in the air, and it’s the perfect time to get out for a scenic drive.
The Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau recently unveiled its Scenic Driving Tours and Motorcycle Road Trips brochures, the perfect companion for a road trip.
“Take a relaxing drive through the scenic wonders and beauties of the Allegheny National Forest Region,” officials say. “These helpful brochures include a list of seven scenic driving trails that take you to the amazing Kinzua Sky Walk at the Kinzua Gorge, the forestlands of the Allegheny National Forest, and the quaint villages and farmlands throughout the region. Each scenic drive is featured on a color-coded driving map, with detailed driving directions and suggested sites to visit along the way.”
The brochures aren’t just limited to fall, though. Use the Scenic Driving Tours and Motorcycle Road Trips brochures during all four seasons to experience a relaxing drive through the region, officials say.
“Cruise the Longhouse National Scenic Byway, the Kinzua Bridge Scenic Byway, and Pennsylvania Route 6 to get into the heart and soul of America,” the bureau points out. “Here in the upper elevations of the Alleghenies, prime ‘leaf peeping’ is during the first two weeks of October. Travel Savvy magazine named the Longhouse National Scenic Byway as ‘one of the top six fall foliage drives in the United States.’”
The Scenic Driving Tours and Motorcycle Road Trips brochures are available to visitors free of charge at the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau’s Welcome Center, located at 80 E Corydon Street in Bradford.
