SMETHPORT (EC) — Volunteer help is needed for displaying the Hometown Heroes banners on light poles throughout Smethport.

Some of the first order of banners honoring veterans in the Smethport area have already been hung in place, but there are 34 more in the second order that have not arrived, said Sherry Anderson, coordinator, as she spoke about this project.

Volunteers should have their own cordless drills and a six-foot or eight-foot stepladder. One banner can be displayed in about a half-hour.
