Big Lots will celebrate the grand opening of its new location at the Bradford Mall Oct. 6. –– and will make $2,000 donations each to Floyd C. Fretz Middle School and George G. Blaisdell Elementary School.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. at 1001 E. Main St. in Foster Township.
“Big Lots is honored to help advance the education of students at these two schools with these donations,” said Shelley Rubin, vice president of advertising with Big Lots. “It’s an expression of our sincere appreciation for being welcomed so warmly and our way of giving back to the community, which is something we put great emphasis on at Big Lots.”
The 30,310-square-foot Big Lots will carry general merchandise from everyday food and consumable items, to seasonal products, clothing and products for the home.
“We are thrilled to open the Bradford store and show shoppers what we have to offer and let them enjoy the Big Lots experience,” Rubin said.
Pat Higgins of MBC Development LP said the mall owners are happy about the relocation of the Big Lots store.
“Big Lots was great to deal with and (we) look forward to a productive, long-term relationship with the quality tenant that they are –– not to mention what they bring to the Bradford Mall in general,” Higgins said. “As of now we don’t have anything lined up for the previous Big Lots space. Now that they are moving out we can focus our attention on trying to lease that space.”
