SMETHPORT — Two people accused of delivering crack cocaine in June were sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court.
Samuel A. Jackson, 43, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Jennifer N. Campbell, 36, of Limestone, N.Y., each pleaded guilty Aug. 31 to their role in a delivery of crack cocaine on June 20; further, Campbell was found to be in possession of crack cocaine while she was an inmate, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
Jackson will serve one to two years in state prison with credit for 93 days of time served and serve three years of probation concurrent to — or at the same time as — the prison sentence. Campbell will serve six months to one year in McKean County Jail with credit for 94 days of time served and three months of concurrent probation.
Jackson and Campbell had each pleaded guilty to charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, and Campbell pleaded guilty to an additional charge of possession of controlled substance by an inmate.
Also in court, Pamela J. Hoffman, 45, of Smethport, was sentenced to a term of nine to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail with credit for 109 days of time served for a charge of aggravated assault. She pleaded no contest Aug. 31 to allegations that on April 4, she punched a nurse in the emergency room at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Joseph L. Phillips, 36, of Kane, was sentenced to seven to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail with credit for 111 days of time served for charges of theft by unlawful taking, indecent exposure, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Aug. 31, Phillips pleaded guilty to allegations that on June 3, he stole Beats headphones and alcohol from a vehicle, exposed his genitals in public, caused police to have to use force to arrest him and possessed a pipe used to smoke a controlled substance.
Jake A. Cabisca, 20, of Bradford, will serve eight days to 18 months in McKean County Jail for charges in three cases. He’s charged in two cases with retail theft and in the third with simple assault. Cabisca pleaded guilty Aug. 31 to allegations that he hit a female in the head on Feb. 6, stole a watch from Walmart on March 15 and stole a can of Red Bull from Tops Supermarket.
Kyle R. South, 26, of Cyclone, will serve 30 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail and pay $4,682.01 in restitution for two counts of criminal mischief. Court records filed at the time of his arrest indicated that he damaged a vehicle that belonged to the mother of his then-girlfriend.
Jacob M. Dowell, 18, of Bradford, will serve four days to one year in McKean County Jail and pay $686.99 in restitution for a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and four summary charges. Shaffer explained that Dowell had been at a campfire party when he took the vehicle and totaled it.
Swadu A. Conteh, 20, of Bradford, was accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
