Solicitation efforts for the Port Allegany campaign for United Way have begun, and officials say it’s been a great start to the annual appeal.
“We’ve already raised 25 percent of the $15,000 goal established for the Port Allegany community this year,” said Executive Director Mandi Wilton Davis. “We’re really anticipating another successful campaign in which we exceed that monetary goal, but most importantly provide aide to the programs and services so many rely on there.”
Davis said that what has been exciting to see are the number of new donors to the campaign, of which there are currently 15.
“We could not be more pleased to see the gains we’re making in our efforts, which have been built on the successes of the volunteers and campaigns of the Port United Fund from past years,” said Davis.
The money raised from now through Jan. 5 will be allocated to eligible non-profit, tax-exempt organizations in Port Allegany during the 2018 calendar year. Applications will be made available Jan. 1.
