SNOWMOBILING: If there’s one thing we get right in this area, it’s snow.
If you don’t remember a winter with snow up past your knees, you’re not a native of northwest or north central Pennsylvania.
Along with all that winter weather, we’ve grown fond of winter activities like snowmobiling — and that hobby will be broadcast across the nation when local areas are featured on “Snow Trails TV” this October.
The PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau and Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association announced that Cameron and McKean counties will be part of a “Snowmobiling in Pennsylvania video that will air on “Snow Trails TV” at 8 a.m. the first two Sundays in October on the Destination America channel.
That’s Oct. 1 and 8, if you don’t have a calendar handy.
According to a release on the show, the visitors bureau and snowmobile association were joined by the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association, the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau and the Somerset County Tourism Grant Program to support the video’s creation.
In addition to McKean and Cameron counties, the show will include snowmobiling in Forest and Somerset counties.
Won’t be able to watch the show on television?
The Cameron County segment can be viewed at vimeo.com/SnowTrailsTV/CameronPA, and the full program can be viewed on the Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association’s website atwww.PASnow.org or its Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/PASnow.
With temperatures reaching nearly 80 degrees here in Bradford over the weekend, it’s hard to believe that snow could be just around the corner — but it’s just under two weeks until October. The first snowfall will be here before you know it.
