SMETHPORT — A new last day to plea conference date has been set for a Bradford man accused of delivering a fatal dose of fentanyl.
Roberto H. Perez, 56, appeared in McKean County Court on Thursday for a last day to plea, as well as to ask for more time to file an omnibus pretrial motion. He is represented by attorney Christopher Martini.
Perez’s last day to plea was postponed until 11 a.m. Oct. 5. He remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Perez, along with Amber McKinney, 36, is facing allegations they delivered the fentanyl patch that caused the death of 25-year-old Derek Clay of Driftwood, according to officials.
Court records indicate that Perez faces 13 charges including drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter and multiple charges of drug delivery and recklessly endangering another person.
Meanwhile, McKinney, 36, is scheduled to appear for a last day to plea at 1 p.m. Oct. 12. She is incarcerated in state prison to serve a sentence on a previous drug conviction.
