COUDERSPORT — The Bradford girls golf team had a nice showing — collectively and individually — in some rainy conditions at the Coudersport Invitational on Thursday.
Elyse Godding and Kate Huber finished second and third, respectively, in the 18-hole section, with Godding shooting 82 and Huber shooting 86.
“Elyse played extremely well,” BHS coach Judy Abbey said. “She had one bad hole early in her round or else she would have won. The amazing thing is, after her issues on the fourth hole, she totally got it together and she ended up with birdies on the last two holes. It was a great learning experience for her. I was very impressed with her play.
“Kate Huber was just a constant player,” she added. “It was raining all day. She played through some adverse conditions.”
Godding, Huber, and Abbey Zickefoose combined for a 284 that earned Bradford second place among all team scores.
Meanwhile, Sophia Oliver’s 55 was good enough for second in the 9-hole portion of the event.
Kaylee Richards of State College had the 18-hole low score with a 79. Rounding out the top five were Cassie Vogel of Bellefonte (93) and Jamie Bachman of State College (95).
Clearfield’s Josie Grice won the 9-hole event with a 52.
State College took home the low team score with a cumulative 272 from Richards, Bachman, Katie Cepallieo, and Riley Krachaw.
