RIDGWAY — The cause of a Thursday morning Jay Township pick-up truck fire has been classified as undetermined, state police fire marshal Trooper Russell Stewart reported.
According to Stewart, the Jay Township Fire Department was dispatched around 11 a.m. Thursday to a vehicle fire on Route 255 in Jay Township. The vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado owned by James Vogt, 55, of DuBois, was fully involved in fire by the time firefighters arrived.
While the cause could not be determined, Stewart noted that the truck was having numerous electrical issues. He explained there was evidence the fire started in the engine compartment.
The truck sustained major fire and heat damage and is a complete loss, according to Stewart. The estimated loss is $10,000.
Police did not say if there were any injuries.
