KANE — The Kane Area United Fund’s 2017-2018 campaign is officially underway.
This year, the group hopes to raise $40,000 to benefit organizations providing services and activities to residents of all ages in the Kane area.
Steve Perry, president of the Board, said, “The Kane Area United Fund’s annual drive is different than other community-wide fundraising efforts because it’s managed locally, which means 100 percent of the money we raise stays in Kane and is given to local organizations.”
Approximately 19 local groups, including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kane Area Little League, Kane Senior Center, Red Cross, McKean County SPCA and Friends’ Memorial Public Library, receive money from the KAUF’s annual appeal. In addition to regular annual awards, the KAUF provides one-time grants to area nonprofits for special projects.
The all-volunteer board of directors includes the following members: Steve Perry, president; Joanne Perry, vice president; Jessica Gabriel, secretary; Stacy Lindquist, treasurer; Melanie Clabaugh; Tonia Hartzell; Emily Parana; Jayne Peterson; Jason Slater and Roni Swanson.
