SMETHPORT — Four Smethport men were found not guilty at a two-day trial for trespassing allegations, while one of those men was found guilty of providing a false statement to police.
Colby J. McKeirnan, 29, Michael K. Isadore, 51, Theodore E. Pearson, 52, and Kevin L. Caldwell, 35, appeared for a two-day trial that ended Tuesday in McKean County Court.
All four were found innocent of all charges, with the exception of McKeirnan, who was found guilty only of one charge of unsworn falsification to authorities, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, who prosecuted the case.
Court records filed at the time of his arrest indicated that McKeirnan provided a written statement to Kane-based state police stating he was elsewhere at the time of the alleged incident.
The charges against all four stemmed from a report of an alleged incident on Aug. 20, 2016, in Keating Township.
Senior Judge William Morgan presided over the case. Defense attorneys were Paul Malizia, Greg Henry, Joe Marasco and Dennis Luttenauer, respectively.
