Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary will host its annual memorial ride Sept. 9 to raise funds to continue assisting local veterans and their families.
The ride begins and ends at VFW Post 212 at 94 Barbour St. Registration is 11 to 11:45 a.m. with complimentary sweets and coffee, followed by blessing of the bikes and a noon departure. The route and stops will be in Pennsylvania only. All bikes and street legal vehicles are welcome; $10 per person includes auxiliary buffet after the run, open jukebox from 4 to 6 p.m. and prizes.
Organizers said, new this year, instead of dice rolls at each stop there will be a scavenger hunt, finding items along the way and at each checkpoint. All information and rules will be available at registration. Items found are points towards prizes at the end of the run. There will be some riddles for extra points.
