A Bradford man was arrested early Monday morning on allegations that he restrained and assaulted his girlfriend.
Jordan Michael Reams, 19, of 9 Chautauqua Place, Apt. 7, is charged with unlawful restraint, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge, court records stated.
According to court records, at 12:22 a.m. Monday, Bradford City Police were dispatched to 193 ½ W. Washington St. for a domestic dispute. Officers walked up to the door and could hear Jordan apologizing to his girlfriend for hitting her, court records stated. An officer then knocked on the door.
Reams told police that “he was holding her there so she wouldn’t leave him and that is all,” court records read.
Meanwhile, his girlfriend told police that Reams hit her in the eye with his knee while he was holding her down to keep her from leaving, according to court records.
Reams was arraigned before District Judge David Engman and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Sept. 7.
