A Lewis Run man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly assaulting his brother.
Michael Butters, 32, of 7629 Route 59, Lewis Run, is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment.
According to court records, at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Butters’ brother called police, saying he had been involved in a domestic disturbance at his brother’s residence. He had left the scene and was waiting for the police at Tack’s Inn. He told police he had been pushed down the stairs by his brother, and was thrown on the ground and then was strangled to the point of passing out, court records read.
Butters was arraigned before on-call District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court Aug. 31.
