ST. MARYS — A helicopter crash Sunday in the City of St. Marys is under investigation.
According to City of St. Marys Police, at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, they received a report of a helicopter that had crashed in the 900-block of South St. Marys Street.
A report shared to the Elk County Office of Emergency Services Facebook page indicated there were no injuries, but the official report from St. Marys Police did not specify whether or not anyone was hurt.
Police did not release the identity of anyone who was in the helicopter.
Investigation into the crash has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), police stated.
Assisting in the investigation, in addition to St. Marys Police, are the Crystal Fire Department of St. Marys, the St. Marys Area Ambulance service, the St. Marys street department and the Civil Air Patrol.
