RIDGWAY –– Brookville will be the new exclusive home to District 9 track and field championships –– at least for a year.

The District 9 Committee voted unanimously on Aug. 9 to grant Brookville High School as the host for next spring’s championships. The district previously voted to combine the Class AA and AAA meets into one day.

Kane High School was previously in a rotation with Brookville, alternating hosting duties for the AA and AAA meets. Future hosting duties will be determined later.

Also at the meeting at Ridgway’s Aiello’s Cafe, the Austin, Kane and Clarion-Limestone high schools were honored as 2016 – 2017 recipients of District 9’s sportsmanships awards.
