SMETHPORT — A Bradford man was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to a term in state prison for charges stemming from two cases.
Darryl M. Sherlock, 31, of Bradford, will serve 18 months to six years in state prison with credit for 126 days of time served. He’s charged in one case with resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension and in the second case with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, marijuana-small amount for personal use and a summary charge. On Aug. 3, Sherlock pleaded guilty to allegations that on Sept. 7, 2016, he drove under the influence of marijuana while he had two minor children in the vehicle; then, on April 7, 2017, Bradford City police went to a residence to look for Sherlock because he was wanted on a warrant, but Sherlock ran from the house and through the neighborhood, injured an officer and caused police to have to use substantial force to overcome his resistance.
Also in court, Levi T. Haberberger, 19, of Mount Jewett, will serve two to 18 months in McKean County Jail and pay $9,488 in restitution. He is charged with receiving stolen property. He pleaded guilty July 20 to allegations that on June 6, he received stolen property valued at $9,488 that included 10 chainsaws, logging equipment, lights, a leaf blower, 112 chains for chainsaws, cake decorating equipment and more.

A charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle that he initially pleaded guilty to has been withdrawn. Menteer pleaded guilty July 20 to allegations that on Jan. 22, he reported to state police that he saw a vehicle that looked like his mother’s crashed on U.S. Route 6; he told them he had been drinking and had to get a ride to the scene, where he confessed he had been the one driving.
Dominique R. Waterman, 25, of Coudersport, will serve 18 months of probation for a charge of theft of lost property. On Aug. 3, she pleaded guilty to allegations that on Nov. 18, 2016, she took a wallet containing items including $60 and six credit cards valued at $60.
