SMETHPORT — A Smethport man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to charges in two criminal cases.
Zachary B. Johnson, 31, entered the plea to charges of theft by unlawful taking and defiant trespassing in both cases. According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on July 8, 2015, Johnson took $400 and a man’s wedding band worth $1,000; then, on July 15, 2015, he took six Percocet pills and $900, and he entered a property after he was told not to be there. He will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Also in court, Alexander M. Davis, 23, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravated assault. On Jan. 11, Davis attempted to cause serious injury to a man by kicking him once in the head with a composite-toed boot, said Shaffer. He will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Melissa K. Moyer, 38, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by deception. According to Shaffer, between Oct. 1, 2014, and May 1, 2015, Moyer received $5,828 in Social Security benefits she was not entitled to by failing to inform authorities that her child no longer lived with her. She will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Elizabeth A. Tucker, 36, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to one charge of welfare fraud. Between March 1, 2016, and Aug. 31, 2016, Tucker received $3,310 in government benefits that she was not entitled to because she failed to provide income information for a man who was living in her residence, Shaffer said. She will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Andrew G. Maholic, 21, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of marijuana-small amount for personal use, possession of drug paraphernalia, corruption of minors and a summary charge. On March 26, Maholic, who possessed marijuana and a green water bong, and allowed a 16-year-old girl to drive without a license, according to Shaffer. He will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Jared M. McAndrews, 20, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to one charge of simple assault. According to Shaffer, on May 25, McAndrew caused injury to his paramour. He will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Robert E. Cover, 32, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault and a summary charge. Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill said that on Feb. 11, Cover subjected a woman to physical contact, hurting her. He will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Rachel M. Jamison, 25, of Buffalo, N.Y., pleaded guilty to one charge of disorderly conduct. Shaffer said that on May 19, Jamison caused a disturbance at Bradford Regional Medical Center by screaming in the emergency room and ER waiting room and being uncooperative with staff and police officers. She will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Dominique R. Waterman, 25, of Coudersport, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of lost property. On Nov. 18, 2016, Waterman took a wallet containing items including $60 and six credit cards valued at $60, according to Grill. She will be sentenced Aug. 10.
Jacob G. Winship, 26, pleaded guilty to a charge of retail theft. Grill said that on April 10, Winship took a GM interface, a Bluetooth and a car stereo valued at $236.17 from Walmart. He will serve 10 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for 21 days of time served.
Darryl M. Sherlock, 31, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in two separate cases. He’s charged in one case with resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension and in the second case with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, marijuana-small amount for
