KANE — A Kane woman was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Engman on allegations of falsifying a prescription for Percocet.
Bonnie L. Eschrich, 36, of 212 Tionesta Ave., is charged with obtaining possession of a controlled substance through misrepresentation, a felony; forgery and tampering records, both first-degree misdemeanors; and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, a summary charge, court records stated.
According to court records, at 8:30 p.m. June 26, Eschrich tried to get her prescription filled at Tops Market pharmacy in Kane; however, her insurance company denied the refill because she tried to fill it too soon. Eschrich left with her prescription slip in her hand.
The Tops pharmacy manager contacted Rite-Aid and SMP pharmacy managers about the alleged incident.
On June 27, Eschrich went to SMP Pharmacy with a forged copy of her prescription slip — the slip now read the prescription was for Percocet with 7.5 mg of oxycodone hydrochloride rather than 5 mg of oxycodone hydrochloride, court records stated.
SMP would not fill the prescription because it appeared to be altered, so Eschrich left and the SMP Pharmacy manager contacted Dr. Kostopoulo’s office of Pain Management at UPMC Kane, where Eschrich received the prescription, and the doctor’s office contacted Kane Borough Police.
Eschrich is free on $10,000 unsecured bail, and she is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
