A full preliminary hearing for a former Bradford City payroll clerk accused of theft has been set for 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Bonita Hillyard, 65, of Bradford, is charged with compensating herself more than $118,000 for overtime hours that she did not work, Bradford City police reported.
Hillyard, a more-than-18-year employee of the city, was initially placed on administrative leave from the city when she was charged but has since been terminated from the position.
She faces 69 criminal charges, including theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, attempted theft by deception, tampering with public records or information, attempted theft by unlawful taking, criminal use of a communication facility, tampering with records and misapplication of entrusted property and property of government or financial institutions, court records stated.
Hillyard is free on $50,000 unsecured bail. She is represented by attorney James Miller.
Mayor Tom Riel stated at the time of Hillyard’s arrest that an investigation into the city’s overtime is ongoing.
