The Allegheny National Forest will be replacing a damaged culvert on Longhouse Scenic Drive section of the Longhouse National Scenic Byway.
The six-week project will begin the week of July 31, and will result in temporarily closing a portion of the road until the work is completed. The damaged culvert is located between Elijah Run Boat Launch and Kiasutha Campground. All recreation sites on the Scenic Drive will remain open, however visitors may need to use an alternate route to reach specific sites.
There will be many posted detour signs to inform travelers about the road closure. In addition, there will be turnaround locations on the Scenic Drive at the points of the road closures.
