RIDGWAY — A state police fire marshal said the fire at an abandoned home in Johnsonburg Tuesday night was the result of arson.

Ridgway-based state police said the Johnsonburg Fire Department, police and the fire marshal,  Cpl. Greg Agosti, investigated the source and origin of a blaze that damaged an abandoned two-story home at 205 Glen Mayo Road at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday. The cause was determined to be arson.

Agosti said previous fires have occurred at the same property. “Damage to the home is significant, however monetary loss was minimal,” police said in a release.

There were no injuries in the blaze.
