BENEFIT: The annual Kids and Cancer Benefit Run is happening today in Bradford.
The group has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past few years, thanks to the locals who support the cause, but where does that money go?
We did a little poking around and found a very long list of individuals who have been helped by the project.
This includes Shriners Hospital for Children in Erie, Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl-A-Thon, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Tony Dolan Memorial Ski for Cancer, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Bradford special police, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, CARE for Children therapy services, Bradford Hospital Foundation for the oncology department, the American Cancer Society’s Operation Precious Cargo fund, Cole Memorial Hospital’s Patterson Cancer Care Center, Wills Eye Center in Philadelphia, Carly’s Club for Kids & Cancer Research in WNY, Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, National Guard Charlie Co., Eagles for Autism, St. Bernard Parish and School Strike Out Leukemia Fund, CURE Bears of Hope and Love, TJ Joy Memorial Fund, Wings Flights of Hope, Ronald McDonald House, Kevin Guest House, LEEK Hunting & Mountain Preserve, the Alliance Foundation, Pennies from Heaven, the Care Fund in honor of Stat MedEvac and Canvas for a CURE.
That list doesn’t even include the hundreds of area residents who have been the recipients of the Kids and Cancer Benefit Run.
