American Refining Group Inc. announced a pair of recent promotions made at the Bradford refinery.
Brent Burgess progressed to energy tech journeyman II in June, having worked for the last year to fulfill the training required to qualify for the promotion. Journeyman are skilled personnel who have successfully completed an official qualification program in a particular trade or craft.
Burgess, a resident of Bradford, began his career at the refinery in November 1980 as a roustabout, later moving to the MEK Unit in 1998 and then to the Energy Shop in 2003.
Alyshia Toothman was promoted to quality lab training specialist in May, earning full qualification with an exam score of 95 percent. Toothman has been with ARG since October 2015 when she was hired as an entry-level technician; she had progressed to technician II in November 2016.
A resident of Rew, Toothman holds an associate degree in petroleum technology from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
