AKRON, N.Y. –– Tim Fries, Head PGA Professional at Transit Valley Country Club, won the WNYPGA Professional Championship for the seventh time with an eight under par 36-hole score of 69-67-136.
Jeff Urzetta, Director of Instruction at Oak Hill Country Club, was Runner-up with a six under par 72-66-138. Jeff also tied the Arrowhead Golf Club course record with a 66 just minutes after Dwayne Randall, Director of Golf at Peek’n Peak Resort, shot 66 and finished tied for third with 73-66-139. Rob Krajewski, Assistant Professional at Orchard Park Country Club, tied for third with Randall with 71-68-139.
Fries, Urzetta, and Randall will all advance to the 2018 PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car, Mercedes Benz USA and OMEGA. The championship will be contested June 17-20, 2018, at Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside, CA.
Kirk Stauffer, PGA Professional at Pine Acres Country Club, finished fourth with 68-74-142 after tying the course record with a 68 in the first round.
Lauren Tallman, PGA Professional at Ravenwood Golf Club, broke the women’s course record with a two under par 70 in the second round.
