Bradford Township Police have received complaints from residents reporting fraudulent phone calls.
According to police, these out-of-country callers are creating scams using spoofing software to mimic local business numbers to entice people to answer their phones. These calls appear on caller ID as local businesses including W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery, Dresser Manufacturing, American Refining Group and Bradford Township.
These scammers believe individuals will answer their phones if they see a local business or organization calling them.
Police ask that residents not give the callers any personal information or buy products from someone who cannot provide specific information regarding the company in which they are representing.
These calls are an attempt to steal from residents, police stated.
