SMETHPORT — The McKean County Conservation District’s tire recycling event will be held Saturday.
Registration has been extended until the truck is full. Call 814-887-4017 to register your tires. Limited space available, first come first served. Payment is required and the cost is $1.25 per car tire, and $2.50 per truck tire. Checks should be payable to: “Keep PA Beautiful” and can be dropped off at the Conservation District Office at 17137 Route 6, Smethport.
The household hazardous waste and electronics collection to be held Aug. 5 has received grant funds to reduce the cost to citizens.
Prices are as follows: Household hazardous and universal waste will be $.80 /lb, and mercury containing devices will be $3.18/lb. Other items accepted will be tube/CRT TVs and monitors at $.55/lb, non-CRT devices at $ .35/lb, and small Freon containing devices at $ .63/lb.
