ALBION –– Danny Manion went 2-for-3 with a two RBIs and pitched four innings as Bradford Legion topped Erie Post 11, 17-1, in seven innings Sunday in the Region 8 Tournament in Albion.
Manion teamed with Hunter Fox on the mound to strike out five, walk four and scatter three hits. Derek Sunafrank added a two-run double and Garret Babcock was 3-for-6 as Bradford pounded Erie Post for 12 hits.
Bradford is in the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament after dropping an 8-5 decision to Wesleyville on Saturday. Gage Babcock, Garret Babcock and Peyton Manion allowed 10 hits, eight walks and combined to strike out six in the loss.
Gage Babcock doubled, while Garret Babcock was 3-for-5 with a double and Danny Manion hit a solo home run for Bradford (18-3).
“We just walked too many people the first game,” Bradford head coach Brian Fox said. “[On Sunday], we rebounded nicely with 12 hits. Hunter Fox did a really good job coming in and pitching three innings. We’re in good shape pitching-wise going into tonight’s game.”
Bradford plays Oil City at 4 p.m. today. Games in the Region 8 Tournament are nine innings in length, as opposed to seven in regular season Legion games.
