A Bradford man has been charged with allegedly selling unreleased lighters that had been taken from the Barbour Street headquarters of Zippo Manufacturing Co.
Dennis Michael Fuino, 58, of 7 Colegrove Ave., is charged with receiving stolen property, a third-degree felony.
According to court records, from May of 2016 to March of 2017, Fuino worked for a local painting contractor doing work at the Zippo headquarters. During that time, multiple unreleased National Hockey League lighters were taken from the offices.
Bradford City Police found that Fuino had posted three lighters for sale on social media garage sale sites, and some of the lighters were listed for sale on the internet by a local business. The officers went to the business to speak to the owner, who said he had purchased about 65 lighters from Fuino for $550, court records read.
Zippo officials identified the lighters as being the ones taken, and valued them at a total of $2,040, court records read.
Fuino was arrested and arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Dom Cercone. He was released on $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court July 20.
