A Bradford man was arrested over the weekend on allegations of forgery.
Curtis Dean Howard, 28, of 116 W. Washington St., was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of forgery, a second-degree felony; and bad checks, a first-degree misdemeanor, court records stated.
According to court records, Howard passed a check drawn on a fraudulently opened bank account that was opened in his father’s name, Daniel Howard Sr., without the father’s permission. The bank account was also closed.
Curtis Howard allegedly gave the $1,347.81 check to The Little Power Shop knowing it would not be honored by drawee. Howard signed his father’s name on the check and received automotive parts and service from the business for his green 2001 Ford F-250, court records indicated.
Curtis Howard was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
