The Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce will launch a program next week intended to bring women together to share ideas, discuss challenges and support one another.
The Women in Business Networking Lunch forum is scheduled for Thursday at the Landmark Cafe in Bradford.
“We plan to make the forum a monthly event on every second Thursday,” said Kara Kennedy, chamber of commerce executive director. “It’s a brand new event focusing on women in the area that are a part of the business community. It’s an opportunity to create a platform to listen to each other and support each other as well.”
The forum will begin at noon and is expected to last at least an hour.
“This is a networking event, with no formal program, although that may evolve over time. All women in business in the local area are invited to join us!” chamber of commerce officials said via Facebook.
Plans call for the event to be held once a month at a different restaurant. Kennedy said that although the focus of the forum is centered around women in business, men are more than welcome to come out and show their support.
“Jen Forney at the Landmark Cafe has been very accommodating to the needs of the forum. We aren’t sure how many people to expect, so it would be helpful to know before the event how many people to accommodate for,” Kennedy said.
Given that the forum is a new project, Kennedy has asked those who would like to attend to RSVP, as the attendance is limited to the spacing.
