KANE — Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane is participating in Saturday sidewalk sales from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Two book carts will be filled with used books for adults and children. All proceeds will be used for the library’s summer programs from July 12 to Aug. 16.
The ‘reading by design’ theme this year encourages young readers to enjoy and engage in the many benefits of the library and inspires creativity with learning. On Wednesdays, a program will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children from birth to five years of age, kindergarteners and first graders. From 1 to 2 p.m., a program will be held for children in second through fifth grade.
From 3 to 4 p.m., a program will be held for tweens and teens.
On Tuesdays, adult programs will be held. From 1 to 2 p.m. is art hour. Also book group/share will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. July 18 and Aug. 15.
