SUMMER: Summer 2017 is forecasted to begin today with a chance of showers and partly sunny with a high near 73.
This longest day of the year will begin with sunup at 5:39 a.m. and end with sundown at 8:54 p.m.
The summer of 2017 is also the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, a milestone that is not going unnoticed.
The anniversary is being celebrated with colorful fervor in, where else, but San Francisco, Calif.
The city has planned activities including Magic Bus Tours, which will continue through Sept. 30, Rock ’n’ Roll billboards on Sunset Strip on display through the end of the year and other tours and exhibits celebrating the music, art and culture of the year.
Today, visitors will be able to attend a Summer of Love Solstice Party; a Surrealistic Summer Solstice concert and Grand Lighting; and The Summer of Love, Fifty Year Later—Discussion & Concert: An Evening with Harry Tsvi Strauch.

For us here in Bradford, summer probably looks a lot different than in California. We have wonderful wilderness that makes rural Pennsylvania a great place to spend the warm months, so don’t waste too much time wishing for that which is long ago and far away — enjoy what we have right here!
