SMETHPORT — A Bradford woman accused of getting into someone’s vehicle and causing thousands of dollars in damage pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court.
Melissa M. Bunting, 40, of Bradford, is charged criminal mischief-damage property and simple assault. Charges in a second case were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on Jan. 13, in the area of East Main Street, caused a total of $21,903.56 in damage — or a net total of $13,502.90 — and damage to $4,375.03 worth of items inside the vehicle. Bunting tried to hurt Janna Davis, too.
Bunting will be sentenced Aug. 24.
Also in court, Zachary M. Koch, 18, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property. He will be sentenced July 20. On Jan. 3, Koch received $135 worth of items stolen from someone else, according to Assistant District Attorney Sean Barrett.
Charles T. Travis Jr., 56, of Bradford, was sentenced to three days to one year in McKean County Jail for a charge of obstructing emergency services. He pleaded guilty June 1 to allegations that on Jan. 14, he yelled at first responders who came to help someone who was in cardiac arrest, getting in their personal space, and had to be taken to a police car before the person in cardiac arrest could be treated.
David L. Nichols, 69, of Cyclone, will serve five years in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a summary charge.
Zachery L. Dahlke, 24, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in two cases. He’s charged in one case with possession of a small amount of marijuana and in the second case with possession of drug paraphernalia. He will be sentenced July 20.
Trey A. Pugh, 19, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of false identification to a law enforcement officer and a summary charge. Barrett said that on Feb. 18, Pugh took Carmex lip balm and baby oil worth a total of $4.90 from Walmart, then provided law enforcement officials with a false name and date of birth. He will serve nine months of probation.
Nna E. Onukwugha, 20, of Bradford, had theft charges against him dropped, so he no longer faces prosecution.
Accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for driving under the influence of alcohol were Landon S. McGill, 22, of Kane; Richard A. Finlow of Bradford; Joshua L. Switzer, 28, of Rew; Jamie A Whiteman, 47, of Bradford; and Shawn B. Schneider, 30, of Rew.
