An Eldred man was jailed on allegations he drove into a parked vehicle, knocking it into a home, and assaulted someone early Tuesday morning.
Zachary Seth Johnston, 29, of 16 Bennett St., was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of burglary, a first-degree felony; criminal trespassing, a second-degree felony; simple assault and three counts of criminal mischief, all second-degree misdemeanors; disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge, court records stated.
According to court records, at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday, Johnston intentionally drove his vehicle into a vehicle belonging to Brittany Mitchell, which pushed her vehicle into a single trailer belonging to Donald Collins.
Then, Johnston allegedly entered the home of Shawn Mitchell through a locked door, damaging it. Johnston and Shawn Mitchell got into an argument inside and continued to argue as they moved outside to the driveway, where Johnston struck Mitchell in the face, causing bruising and swelling, and Mitchell fell to the ground, court records stated.
Johnston was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on June 22.
