ELDRED — An event to celebrate Pennsylvania’s river of the year, the Allegheny, will be held June 17 at the C. Johnson property on Artline Road near Eldred.
Family friendly activities include river ratings, water quality and river life; lowland forestry, learning about riverside tree and shrub species; fly fishing and casting; and a riparian tree planting for river health.
Learn to canoe river float and cleanup with river access behind the Eldred VFW at the intersection of Prentisvale and West Eldred Road. Padding lessons, canoes for loan and a river cleanup will be held while floating to the Johnson property for lunch and activities.
