SMETHPORT (EC) — Jared Pavlock, a high honor student and co-president of the Class of 2017 at Smethport Area High School, has been awarded the 2017 Sharon De Lancey Memorial Scholarship.
Graduates of SAHS who are also parishioners of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Smethport are eligible to apply for the financial support.
Jared received the $1,000 scholarship Sunday following Mass at the church, where De Lancey was a choir member, catechism teacher and leader of the Small Communities program and Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.
Pavlock is currently undecided about a major at The Pennsylvania State University, but plans to pursue either a pre-med degree curriculum or a degree in biology or chemistry.
