PORT ALLEGANY — Port Allegany Borough will be hosting a community cleanup day from 8 a.m. to noon on June 24.
Borough residents will have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items in dumpsters that will be available at the borough offices during this time. There will be a $15 fee for each car or pick-up truck load a resident wants to dispose of, and the fee must be paid by June 21 or can be added to your next borough bill.
Paint cans can only be accepted if they are empty, if the paint is dried, or if cat litter is stirred into the paint until dry. Other items that cannot be disposed of include tires, liquids of any kind, barrels (unless both ends are removed), refrigerators, AC units, electronics and hazardous household wastes. To pre-register for this event stop in the borough office or call (814) 642-2526.
Community cleanup day is only open to residents of Port Allegany Borough.
