Maybe someone can explain to me why the government thinks it must profit off of healthcare. That, to the best of my knowledge, is why it is so hard to put together a good healthcare plan.
The one thing that stands in the way of healthcare is the people who want to sue doctors for malpractice. That in itself raises healthcare costs. It also seems like the insurance industry promotes this practice.
I also have a problem with individuals who think that being a CEO or CFO entitles them to hundreds of thousands of dollars — if not millions. What individual human being is worth that kind of money? I personally don’t know anyone.
It all breaks down to the biggest problem of the United States, and probably a few other countries around the world: greed. We cannot have good healthcare if everybody has to make profit off of us, the government included.
There was an individual here, visiting from another country and riding his bike across the U.S., when he wrecked his bike and was injured. He had to go to a local hospital. I will not get into anymore detail aside from the fact that his injuries cost him a substantial amount of money. It was enough that he almost had to cut his trip short. The point was that he said in his country there is a flat rate to go to the hospital for what his injuries were — and that was it.
The government takes care of the doctors and they were compensated for their work. The other point to this is their people are healthier than ours in a lot of ways.
Why can’t our government look into other countries’ healthcare programs and figure out what makes them work, and maybe bring that to us if they’re not satisfied with the Affordable Care Act.
Just get rid of the greed. It benefits no one — or at least not the working men and women.
