Swerving while driving is a sign of one of two things; bad driving, or bad roads. Chalk it up to the latter reason for all the swerving that’s been going on lately. Fret no more, however, because repairs on their way.
Bradford City, Bradford Township, Foster Township and Lewis Run Borough have all proposed repairs for local roads and bridges.
Five streets in Bradford City will be resurfaced using liquid fuels money. Bradford City officials plan to discuss the upcoming repairs at the regular city council meeting on Tuesday.
As for Bradford Township, Jim Erwin, township supervisor, helped shed some light on the proposed repairs.
“There are plans to repair a mile of road of West Corydon Street, from Clarks Lane to Pennbrook Lane,” he said. He went on to discuss the specific repairs that will be put into effect.
“They will be milling the old blacktop off, and putting down a new layer of blacktop,” he explained.
Irv Swartz, the Lewis Run Borough council president, stated that repairs are scheduled in the summer for the Lincoln Street Bridge. As for plans to repair the second half Main Street, Swartz stated that the project would begin some time next year.
The first of Lewis Run’s Main Street was repaved in 2015.
For Foster Township, information about repairs was released earlier in the year. Township road foreman Chad Babcock said back in March that the two roads projected to be fixed are Garlock Hollow and Hedgehog Lane.
“It’s going to feel great to get them (the two projects) completed,” Babcock said in March.
