RIDGWAY — A Friday morning fire in a Johnsonburg Borough house — the second fire there in less than two years — has been deemed arson.
According to state police fire marshal Trooper Russell Stewart, a fire was reported at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the single family dwelling at 205 Glen Mayo Road, Johnsonburg.
Stewart and the Crystal Fire Department of St. Marys investigated and determined that the blaze was arson. Both the owner of the home — which was abandoned — and the identity of the person who started the fire were not known by police, they indicated.
A previous fire happened at the house in December 2015, according to Stewart, who said the structure was abandoned after the first fire.
