COUDERSPORT — A fugitive wanted in Kansas was arrested at 8:22 p.m. May 12 on Route 44 in Sharon Township.
According to Coudersport-based state police, they learned that Daniel J. Winkler, 44, of Topeka, Kan., who was wanted for allegedly absconding from state parole in Kansas, was at a home in Sharon Township. Troopers went immediately to the residence, where they found Winkler hiding behind a washer and dryer in a first-floor bedroom.
Winkler was taken into custody without incident, police reported.
He was committed to Potter County Jail pending extradition, according to police.
