COUDERSPORT — A Coudersport man is facing allegations had he consensual sexual relationships with two underage teens.
Kyle William Wenzel, 20, of 201 Isabella St., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Delores Weiss on numerous charges in two cases — one case for each of the victims.
According to court records, between December 2016 and February, he would meet with a girl on a trail that runs from behind the Coudersport pool to the Coudersport Legion. The pair allegedly had sexual contact on several occasions, but they did not have sexual intercourse. During one video chat between the two, he allegedly bared his genitalia.
Court records indicated she was 13 years old when the alleged relationship began but was 14 by the time Coudersport-based state police interviewed her on May 6.
“She advised that Wenzel told her not to tell anyone and that they would get in trouble if anyone found out,” court records stated.
During the interview, the girl told police he was dating another teenage girl, too, court records stated.
According to court records, Wenzel dated the second girl, who was 14, between November 2016 and April 2017.
During that time, the pair allegedly had sexual intercourse twice — once on the trail and once in his basement — as well as other sexual contact on several occasions.
The girl told police “that Wenzel told her ‘a lot’ of times that if the cops ever asked her anything about him to just deny everything,” court records read.
According to court records, he’s charged in one case with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age, a first-degree felony; one count each of statutory sexual assault and photographing, videotaping, depicting on computer or filming sexual acts and eight counts of aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, all second-degree felonies; one count each of corruption of minors and child pornography, both third-degree felonies; and nine counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, all second-degree misdemeanors.
In the second case, he’s charged with 10 counts of IDSI with a person less than 16 years of age, all first-degree felonies; 12 counts of statutory sexual intercourse by someone 4 to 8 years older than the victim, all second-degree felonies; one count of corruption of minors, a third-degree felony; and 12 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, court records stated.
Wenzel is free, having been released on his own recognizance in one case and posting 10 percent of $15,000 bail in the second, court records indicated. Attorney Daniel Glassmire of Coudersport is listed as his lawyer.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
The charges were initially filed at District Judge Annette Easton’s office in Coudersport, but she and Potter County District Attorney Andy Watson recused themselves from the cases. Wenzel is the son of a Coudersport Borough police officer who has a working relationship with Easton and Watson.
